What Happens After You Call
Call (423) 275-5107 and tell us what the door is doing - or not doing. A quote over the phone is a range, not a number, because a lot of what drives the price is what's behind the panel, not what you can see from the driveway.
What helps us the most: the age of the door if you know it, whether it's one piece or sectional, whether the spring is a single torsion bar over the opener or two side-mounted springs, and whether the opener is original to the house. A lot of houses in this area were built between 1963 and 2004, with a good chunk going up in the 1960s and 70s, so torsion hardware from that era sometimes needs parts that aren't on a shelf - we tell you that up front instead of guessing a number and missing it.
What we can't price over the phone: anything involving the track alignment, a bent section, or water damage to the bottom panel. Winters here are cold enough that ice and moisture work on wood and steel differently than a dry climate would, and we need eyes on it before we commit to a number. If you want a firm quote same day, that means someone looking at the door, not just hearing about it.
Who Turns Up
The person who comes to your house is the person who does the repair - we don't run a separate sales visit and a separate repair visit. They'll check the spring tension, the track alignment, the cables, the rollers, and the opener before writing anything down, because a door that won't close can have three different causes that look identical from inside the car.
We work on torsion springs, extension springs, openers, broken cables, bent track, and panel replacement. We do not do custom door fabrication or specialty architectural doors - if that's what you need, we'll tell you that instead of taking the job and guessing.
One honest limit: if your door is old enough that the track or spring size is no longer made, we'll say so and give you the replacement option alongside the repair option, with the real cost difference, not a push toward whichever is easier for us.
Where We Travel
We're based at 1010 Georgia Ave in Chattanooga and work the surrounding service area - 43,198 households and 23,962 owner-occupied houses across it, most built in that 1963 to 2004 stretch of construction. That matters for parts: a 1970s torsion spring and a 2000s extension spring are not interchangeable jobs.
We cover Red Bank (4 mi), East Ridge (5 mi), Harrison (7 mi), Signal Mountain (8 mi), Walden (8 mi), Middle Valley (9 mi), Fairmount (10 mi), Ooltewah (11 mi), Lakesite (11 mi), and Collegedale (11 mi), along with closer-in areas like East Chattanooga Neighborhood Association (1 mi NNE), Glenwood (2 mi SSW), Stuart Heights/Rivermont (3 mi NW), Northshore (4 mi W), Shepherd (4 mi ESE), North Chattanooga (4 mi WSW), East Lake (4 mi SSW), Hixson (5 mi N), Mountain Creek (5 mi WNW), Lake Village (6 mi W), Twin Brook (6 mi ESE), Balmoral (6 mi WNW), St. Elmo Improvement League (7 mi SW), Piney Woods (7 mi SW), and Lookout Valley (9 mi WSW). Further out, we also run to Soddy-Daisy (14 mi), Powells Crossroads (16 mi), Whitwell (18 mi), and South Cleveland (19 mi). If you're outside that range, call and ask - we'll tell you honestly if it's a trip we can make the same week.
Frequently asked questions
Can you give me an exact price over the phone?
Not usually. We can give you a range based on what you tell us about the door and spring type, but an exact number needs someone looking at the track, the spring, and the opener in person. Hidden damage behind the panel changes the job more than people expect.
Do you charge for the quote visit itself?
We don't have a separate pricing fact to quote you here, so ask us directly when you call (423) 275-5107 - we'd rather give you a straight answer than a guess that turns out wrong once we're at the door.
How far out do you travel for a job?
We regularly cover areas from Red Bank and East Ridge out to Soddy-Daisy, Whitwell, and South Cleveland, roughly 4 to 19 miles from our shop on Georgia Ave. If you're further out, call and we'll tell you honestly whether it fits the week's schedule.
What kind of doors do you not work on?
We don't do custom architectural fabrication. If your door falls into that category, we'll say so on the quote call rather than take the job and improvise a fix that doesn't hold up.
